What's inside Sorila: capabilities, formats, and boundaries
A practical guide to what Sorila's security questionnaire software does today, which file formats it handles, how export fidelity works, and what's on the roadmap. For the bigger picture, start with how Sorila keeps enterprise deals moving.
What's included at launch
Sorila ships as a complete questionnaire workflow, from secure upload through export, without requiring a full trust platform or months of implementation.
Questionnaire projects
Track each customer review with owner, due date, status, and export history in one place.
Secure file ingestion
Authenticated upload, file validation, tenant-isolated storage, and clear retention controls.
File parsing
Structured handling for .xlsx, .csv, and .docx: sheets, tables, sections, and document order.
Question extraction
Detect questions, sections, answer types, and source locations so nothing loses its place in the original file.
Extraction review
Edit, merge, split, reorder, and confirm the extracted structure before you start answering.
Answering workspace
Enter answers manually with status filters, completion progress, notes, and autosave.
Export engine
Write answers back into a customer-usable file. Preserve structure where possible; surface exceptions clearly.
Security & audit
Tenant isolation, encryption, short-lived downloads, audit events, and no training on your questionnaire data.
Formats and fidelity matter
Buyers send messy workbooks. Good security questionnaire software has to respect that, not force you into a generic form that you then rebuild by hand.
Supported at launch
.xlsx, .csv, and .docx questionnaires, with spreadsheet fidelity as the primary path.
Source locations preserved
Every extracted question keeps a traceable link back to its place in the original file.
Originals never overwritten
Exports are versioned new files. Your uploaded questionnaire stays intact.
Exceptions are visible
If an answer can't be placed cleanly, Sorila reports it. No silent data loss.
What Sorila is (and isn't) at launch
Clear boundaries help you decide if this is the right tool right now.
It is
Focused security questionnaire software: project tracking, extraction, human review, manual answering, and customer-ready export, with security and audit built in.
It isn't (yet)
An AI answer generator, evidence citation engine, approved-answer library, or full trust / GRC platform. Those come later. Launch is about getting the workflow right.

Common questions
Which questionnaire formats does Sorila support?
Excel (.xlsx), CSV, and Word (.docx) at launch, with spreadsheet fidelity as the primary path. PDF questionnaires are not supported yet because reliable reconstruction and export are significantly harder.
Does the export match the file my customer sent?
Yes, that's the point. Answers are written back into the original structure: sheet names, merged cells, and formatting are preserved where possible, and anything that can't be placed cleanly is listed in an exception report instead of silently dropped.
What happens if the extraction gets something wrong?
You fix it in the review screen before answering: edit question text, merge or split rows, reassign sections, and remove rows that aren't questions. Extraction is a starting point, not a black box.
Is my questionnaire data used to train AI models?
No. Your data stays in your tenant, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never used for model training.
Do I need to integrate anything to start?
No. There are no mandatory integrations with your CRM, GRC tooling, or cloud. Upload a questionnaire and start working.
How do I get access?
Sorila is in a private design partner phase. Apply to the program and we'll follow up if there's a fit.
